To have a affection translation the screen writer must stick to some main ideas. The director must first stick with the same main ideas, and keep the movie as close to the book as possible. The film must give off the same vibe and reflect the same ideas that the author gave to the novel. In the movie the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe the film had to have excellent graphics to make it seem as real as possible. In this new movie the graphics for the fake characters were amazing. As you watch he film you can never see how someone could possibly make this character so real. The way they make them look is mind blowing. Also the director must keep the same important relationships in the book to the film. Like in this movie you need to keep the extremely important relationship with Lucy and Mr. Tumnus. This is one of the most important themes of the movie and with out it the movie would be much different. Another part and relationship you must keep is the relationship between Edmond and the queen. This has a huge part of the main plot and ending of the novel and film.

In order to make the film appealing to the youth and the older ages you must make many changes to appeal to both. The children are attracted to the fantasy world and the fake characters and how they talk. The kids are drawn towards these simple things in movies. Adults on the other hand are more attracted to the theme of the movie and the battle scenes and the edge of the seat thrilling plot. They have to make the fight scenes as real as possible and have to make everything seem as if the war is really happening and still have anger in there eyes. They also want thrills that will keep them interested through out the whole movie.

When making a translation from novel to film the screenwriter is obtaining a huge task. This is not a simple job he or she needs to play close attention to detail and think of many ways to make this film better then the novel. The criteria that is needed to have a effective translation is three main things. First the screen writer must make the characters sound and act the same as if they were still in the novel.These characters need to be actually what the people think of when you tell them the name. The second criteria is the plot of the film. They must have the same or closely related plot to the novel as much as they can. The plot needs to be the same because that is going to set the toe for the film and with out the tone the film will not be a affective translation. They also must make the music, settings, and etc: to exactly what u think of when you read the novel. Finally you must answer all their viewers questions through out the movie. You must catch the parts people could have missed in the novel, you must make the viewers want to read or watch the movie over again, and make the viewer understand everything in the novel that much better. These are the things a screen writer must do in order to make the translation a total successes.

From what we read in the article about the novel i am glad for us just seeing the movie. The film was a much more wild and outgoing film then the article mad it seem. You can tell that when a screen writer is converting a novel to a film he has a lot to think about. He has to make the movie more eye catching and keep you interested through out the whole movie. The writer had a brilliant look at the film and decided to make him self in the movie and make it as if it is like a documentary. This one a great idea and was a different look then we the students have ever seen in this class before. i believe the film was a great transformation of the novel to make it more interesting. This was a hard task but the screen writer took the task upon himself and got it done and did an excellent job.

The novels main idea was kept in the film but was more aimed and changed for the viewers of the modern age. The film was change a bit because of the different ages. The 19th century England is much different then the United States today. Although that some characters names and some of what they do changed, the same concept is used. I believed the movie was very similar to the text and the film gave it that extra step to be a good film. The changes I'm my eyes made the film much better. The film does maintain the integrity of the text. It maintains the same purpose and plot of the text. It maintains the same emotions, actions, and Passion that the texts shows through out the novel. I think the changes made by the screen writer was made for the better. I believe that the changes gave the film that extra little bit to catch the young and older viewers. I think the change in setting was a great choice, it gave the views the sense that they can relate to the film. The changes were for the better and I loved the movie.
